Thiago Almada has completed a move to River Plate from Atletico Madrid, with the transfer confirmed on 7 August 2026. The midfielder switches clubs having spent the previous season with the Spanish side across multiple competitions.
A busy year in Madrid
Almada made 39 competitive appearances for Atletico Madrid in 2025, totalling 1,704 minutes and four goals. The bulk of his football came in La Liga, where he featured 27 times for 1,312 minutes, while he also had five outings in the Copa del Rey and seven in the UEFA Champions League, adding a further 204 and 172 minutes respectively.
New chapter at River Plate
