Manchester City have completed the signing of goalkeeper Gerónimo Rulli from Marseille, with the move confirmed on 11 August 2026.

The Argentine arrives on the back of a heavy workload last year, having made 39 competitive appearances for Marseille across four competitions in 2025.

A busy year in Marseille

Rulli's 2025 campaign was built largely around Ligue 1, where he featured 29 times and logged 2,610 minutes for Marseille. He also played a significant part in their UEFA Champions League run, making eight appearances and totalling 720 minutes.

His season was rounded off with single outings in the Trophée des Champions and the Coupe de France, taking his overall total to 3,517 minutes across all competitive fixtures without scoring a goal, as expected of a goalkeeper.

What it means for City

The transfer gives Manchester City a goalkeeper with substantial recent experience of both domestic and European football, having played a regular role for Marseille throughout last season.

With pre-season underway and the major leagues about to begin, Rulli's arrival adds depth and competition for places in City's goalkeeping options ahead of the new campaign.
