Roma's slender grip on top of Serie A continues
AS Roma continue to sit at the summit of Serie A, though their position affords them no breathing room at all, with the sides immediately below them level on points.
The absence of any gap underlines just how tight the early stages of the campaign have been, with Roma's rivals needing only a single slip to leapfrog them.
A race with no clear favourite
With the table so congested at the top, every fixture now carries extra weight for Roma and those chasing them. A draw dropped or a match lost could be enough to change the leader by the end of the next round of games.
For now, Roma hold the advantage that comes with occupying first place, even if the margin separating them from their closest challengers is effectively nothing in points terms.
