Roma host Slovan Bratislava in Champions League matchday three clash
AS Roma welcome Slovan Bratislava to the Stadio Olimpico on 20 October for matchday three of the Champions League league stage, four days after the same venue hosted Roma's test against Real Madrid.
The fixture pits two sides with contrasting recent momentum. Roma arrive having won two, drawn two and lost one of their last five, while Slovan Bratislava have taken three wins, a draw and a defeat across their last five, giving the visitors a slight edge in recent form.
Form and context
Roma's recent sequence of a win, a loss, two draws and another win reflects a side still finding its rhythm in the group phase, whereas Slovan Bratislava's win-loss-draw-win-win pattern suggests a team arriving at the Olimpico with greater confidence in front of goal and behind it.
With both clubs seeking points to strengthen their league-stage standing, the match carries clear significance for either side's progression hopes in the competition.
Kick-off at the Stadio Olimpico is scheduled for 19:00 UTC, and the result will shape both clubs' positions as the Champions League league stage continues to take form.
