Roma hold slender lead in Serie A title race after five rounds
Roma remain at the top of Serie A after five rounds of fixtures, though their position at the summit comes with no points cushion over those immediately behind them.
With the season seven matchdays into its course more broadly across the division, the early standings point to a congested race at the top rather than any early separation.
A lead of zero points means Roma's advantage rests on secondary factors within the table rather than a clear gap in results. For a club already accustomed to recent scrutiny of their position, the coming rounds will be important in determining whether they can turn a nominal lead into something more secure.
For now, Roma occupy top spot, but the group chasing them remains close enough that the picture could shift with any single set of results.
