Nottingham Forest welcome Coventry to the City Ground on 19 September for a Premier League fixture that finds both clubs still searching for a settled run of results early in the campaign.

Forest arrive on the back of a WDDLL sequence, having won once, drawn twice and lost twice in their last five, while Coventry's recent form reads LLLLW, a solitary victory sandwiched between four defeats.

Even terms

Despite the contrasting shapes of their runs, the two sides have each won exactly one of their last five matches, leaving little to separate them heading into this meeting.

History between the clubs has also swung back and forth. Their most recent competitive encounter, a Championship fixture in April 2022, saw Nottingham Forest win 2-0, while a friendly meeting in July of that year went the other way, with Coventry winning 3-1.

Looking ahead

Earlier Championship meetings in 2020 and 2021 were shared fairly evenly too, with both sides recording home and away wins across that spell.

With Forest looking to arrest their recent dip and Coventry hoping to build on their sole win in five, matchday five at the City Ground presents a genuine opportunity for either club to gain momentum in the Premier League table.
