Nkunku returns to Leipzig in move from AC Milan
RB Leipzig have completed the signing of Christopher Nkunku from AC Milan, with the transfer confirmed on 24 August 2026. The attacker returns to the Bundesliga side having previously made his name in Germany before moving on to Chelsea and then Milan.
A busy year across competitions
Nkunku's 2025 took in 41 competitive appearances and 1,845 minutes across four different competitions, split between Milan and Chelsea. The bulk of that workload came in Serie A with Milan, where he featured 32 times for 1,377 minutes, contributing to a return of nine goals across all his outings last year.
He also had a spell with Chelsea in the FIFA Club World Cup, making six appearances for 291 minutes, before further outings for Milan in the Super Cup and Coppa Italia.
What it means for Leipzig
The move gives Leipzig an experienced attacking option as they continue through the early weeks of the season, with the club having already been in Bundesliga action this month. Nkunku's varied 2025 campaign, spanning Serie A and cup competitions on two continents' worth of club football, suggests a player used to featuring across different formats and demands.
