Nahuel Molina has completed a move from Atletico Madrid to Roma, the club confirmed on 11 August 2026. The Argentine defender joins Roma's ranks after a lengthy spell in Madrid.

The transfer marks another departure from Atletico's squad this month, coming shortly after Thiago Almada's move to River Plate, though the two switches are unconnected.

A busy 2025 for Molina

Molina was a regular fixture for Atletico last year, making 45 competitive appearances and playing 2,424 minutes across all competitions. He contributed two goals over that span.

The bulk of his workload came in La Liga, where he featured 26 times for 1,332 minutes, while he also made 13 appearances totalling 703 minutes in the UEFA Champions League. He added six outings in the Copa del Rey, playing 379 minutes in that competition.

What it means for Roma

Roma gain an experienced defender with a track record of regular league and continental football, adding an option at the back as the new season gets under way.

Attention now turns to how quickly Molina can settle into his new surroundings as Roma continue their early-season fixtures.
