FC Midtjylland will look to overturn a narrow deficit when they host Beşiktaş at the MCH Arena in Herning on 30 July, in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League. The tie is finely poised after Beşiktaş won the first leg 1-0 on 23 July.

Midtjylland go into the return leg carrying strong recent momentum, having won four of their last five matches, losing only once in that run. That form marks a clear contrast with their opponents, who have managed just one win in their last five outings, alongside two draws and two defeats.

Form lines tell contrasting stories

The Danish side's recent sequence of results — four wins, no draws and a single defeat — gives them a platform of confidence as they attempt to reverse the first-leg outcome on home soil. Beşiktaş, by comparison, arrive having found consistency harder to come by, with only one victory from their previous five fixtures.

That imbalance in recent form will be a notable subplot heading into the second leg, even though the aggregate scoreline remains the most important factor after Beşiktaş's away win in the opening fixture.

With the tie level in terms of stakes but not on the scoreboard, Midtjylland will need a positive result at the MCH Arena to progress in the competition, while Beşiktaş will be aiming to protect their slender advantage from the first meeting.
