Malaga face selection headache with six unavailable ahead of La Liga clash
Malaga head into their La Liga fixture with a lengthy absentee list, having confirmed six players unavailable for the match on 17 September, played at 19:30 UTC.
The list is headed by Jens-Lys Cajuste, who is sidelined through injury, alongside M. Diarra, who is out with a calf injury. Julen Lobete and Aaron Ochoa are both unavailable due to knee injuries, while Diego Murillo is also out through injury and Fernando Calero remains absent with a rib issue.
Squad depth tested
With six senior players unavailable across defence and midfield, Malaga will have to manage their options carefully as they look to build on the opening weeks of the campaign, roughly six matchdays into the season.
This comes just days after Malaga's league neighbours Celta Vigo prepared to host the club themselves while both sought a first win in five, underlining the competitive stretch across the division this month.
