FSV Mainz 05 welcome Eintracht Frankfurt to the Mewa Arena on matchday three of the Bundesliga, with the hosts arriving in considerably better shape. Mainz have won four of their last five matches, losing none, while Frankfurt have managed only two wins in the same span, including two defeats.

Recent head-to-head record favours the hosts

The two sides have met four times since early 2024, with Mainz winning twice, Frankfurt once, and one match ending level. The most recent meeting, in March 2026, saw Mainz edge Frankfurt 2-1, while the reverse fixture in November 2025 went the other way, Frankfurt winning 1-0. That pattern of the sides trading results has continued across the past two seasons, with neither team building a long run of dominance in the fixture until Mainz's current form swing.

With Mainz's four wins from their last five outings comfortably outstripping Frankfurt's two across the same period, the hosts go into the match with the stronger recent record. Frankfurt, by contrast, will be looking to arrest a stretch that has included as many defeats as victories.
