Lorient host Paris FC at the Stade du Moustoir on Saturday as Ligue 1 reaches its sixth round of fixtures, with both sides looking to build on contrasting runs of results so far this season.

Form guide favours the visitors

Paris FC arrive on the back of three wins and two draws from their last five league outings, a record that leaves them unbeaten across that span. Lorient, by contrast, have managed just one win in the same period, alongside two draws and two defeats, leaving them with ground to make up if they are to keep pace with their visitors in the early weeks of the campaign.

A history of close contests

The two sides have met regularly across recent seasons, with the fixture producing a mix of outcomes. Their last Ligue 1 meeting in April ended level at 1-1, though Lorient did get the better of Paris FC in a Coupe de France tie the previous month, winning 2-0. Paris FC, however, took the points when the teams met in Ligue 1 the previous October, winning 2-0 on that occasion, and have also prevailed in earlier Ligue 2 encounters between the clubs.

What is at stake

With Paris FC's recent form clearly the stronger of the two, Lorient will be looking to use home advantage at the Moustoir to arrest their inconsistent run. Given the tightness of several recent meetings between these two clubs, there is little to suggest this latest instalment will be short of competitive edge.
