Liverpool facing selection headache with six players sidelined
Liverpool are preparing for their upcoming Premier League fixture on 4 September with six players unavailable, a list that spans several areas of the squad.
The absentees
Bradley Barcola is listed as inactive, while Conor Bradley is out with a knee injury. Federico Chiesa is dealing with a back injury and Hugo Ekitike is unavailable because of an Achilles tendon injury.
Joseph Gomez remains out through injury, and Giovanni Leoni is also sidelined with a knee injury. Together the six absences leave Liverpool with reduced options across defence and attack.
Looking ahead
With the match kicking off at 19:00 UTC, attention will turn to how the squad copes without this group of players as the early weeks of the season continue.
