Rafael Leão has completed a transfer from AC Milan to Galatasaray, confirmed on 28 August 2026, bringing an end to his time in Serie A.

The move arrives days after Milan's other high-profile departure, with Christopher Nkunku returning to Leipzig, leaving the Italian club to reshape its forward options this window.

A busy 2025 in Milan colours

Leão was a regular fixture for Milan across the year, making 30 competitive appearances and totalling 1,949 minutes on the pitch. The bulk of that workload came in Serie A, where he featured 29 times for 1,859 minutes, adding a single Coppa Italia outing of 90 minutes.

Across those matches he scored nine goals, underlining his role as one of Milan's principal attacking threats before his exit.

What it means for Galatasaray

Galatasaray now add a forward with a proven scoring record from one of Europe's leading leagues, arriving early in the new season as clubs across the continent settle into their opening fixtures.

With only a handful of matchdays played so far this term, Leão will look to bring his attacking output straight into Galatasaray's plans.
