Sunderland secured a narrow 1-0 win over Fulham at the Stadium of Light, with substitute Wilson Isidor scoring the only goal of the game in the 75th minute.

The match was goalless at half-time, with neither side finding a breakthrough in the opening period.

Isidor makes an instant impact

Isidor was introduced in the 64th minute in place of Brian Brobbey and needed just eleven minutes to make his mark, netting the goal that separated the two sides.

Once Isidor's goal went in, the result never moved again, with no further goals added by either team before the final whistle.

Chances and numbers

Sunderland were the sharper side in front of goal, registering four shots on target compared with none for Fulham, and edged the expected goals count 1.75 to 0.79.

Fulham's goalkeeper was the busier of the two, making three saves to Sunderland's none, though it was not enough to prevent the home side from taking all three points.
