Daizen Maeda completes move from Celtic to Ipswich
Ipswich have completed the signing of Daizen Maeda from Celtic, with the transfer confirmed on 24 July 2026. The attacker arrives ahead of the new Premier League season as clubs continue to shape their squads during the summer transfer window.
A busy campaign in Scotland
Maeda was a regular fixture for Celtic across all competitions in 2025, making 47 competitive appearances and totalling 3,659 minutes on the pitch. He contributed 14 goals over the course of the year, underlining his role as an attacking outlet for the club.
The bulk of his workload came in the Premiership, where he featured 36 times and played 2,837 minutes. He also had a hand in Celtic's European campaigns, appearing nine times in the UEFA Europa League for 612 minutes and twice in the UEFA Champions League for 210 minutes.
What it means for Ipswich
The move gives Ipswich an attacker with recent experience of sustained competitive football, having featured heavily for Celtic across domestic and European fixtures. As pre-season preparations continue, Maeda's arrival adds another attacking option to the squad ahead of the campaign.
