Chelsea welcome Hull City to Stamford Bridge on Saturday looking to continue an early-season surge that has brought four wins from their last five outings. Hull arrive on the back of a steadier but less spectacular run, with two wins, two draws and a single defeat in their previous five matches.

A one-sided history

The two sides have met five times in recent history, and Chelsea have won every single one of those fixtures. The most recent meeting, in February 2026, saw Chelsea put four unanswered goals past Hull in the FA Cup, mirroring earlier cup wins in 2020 and 2018. Their Premier League meetings, both in 2016 and 2017, also ended in Chelsea victories.

With that record behind them and the current form clearly in Chelsea's favour, there is little in the numbers to suggest Hull will find it easy to break the pattern on this occasion.

What is at stake

For Chelsea, victory would extend their winning streak to five and keep the early pace they have set in the opening month of the season. Hull, meanwhile, will hope their more balanced recent form can translate into a result against a side that has so comprehensively had the better of this fixture in the past.
