Bayern München and Arsenal shared the spoils in a thrilling Champions League encounter at the Allianz Arena, with Declan Rice's effort in the 82nd minute cancelling out Harry Kane's second-half penalty to secure a 2-2 draw.

Eberechi Eze, who had only been introduced in the tenth minute as a substitute for Bukayo Saka, gave Arsenal the lead in the 25th minute. Bayern responded through Alphonso Davies ten minutes later to level the scores before half-time.

Kane strikes from the spot

Bayern pushed ahead early in the second half when Kane converted from the penalty spot in the 61st minute, putting the hosts 2-1 up. Arsenal, though, found a response with Rice's goal nine minutes from time, ensuring the points were shared.

The hosts finished with a higher expected goals tally of 2.5 compared to Arsenal's 1.71, reflecting the chances created across the match, though it was Arsenal who saw more of the ball, with 58 per cent possession to Bayern's 42.

Bayern committed considerably more fouls over the course of the game, with 15 compared to Arsenal's six, while Arsenal edged the corner count five to three.

The draw leaves both sides with a share of the points in Matchday 3 of the League Stage, as the Champions League campaign continues.
