Arsenal and Chelsea meet at the Emirates Stadium on matchday three of the Premier League season, with both sides having made encouraging starts to the campaign.

Arsenal arrive on the back of a WWWDL sequence, while Chelsea have been marginally the sharper of the two in recent weeks, winning four of their last five outings compared to Arsenal's three.

A recent history tilted towards Arsenal

Despite Chelsea's slightly stronger current form, the head-to-head record between these two sides has leaned firmly towards Arsenal of late. The most recent league meeting, in March 2026, ended 2-1 to Arsenal, while a League Cup tie the previous month finished 1-0 the same way.

Arsenal also came out on top in a five-goal thriller in January, winning 3-2 at Stamford Bridge in the League Cup, and the two sides shared the points in a 1-1 draw when they met in the league back in November 2025.

Looking ahead

With Chelsea unbeaten in their last five overall and Arsenal seeking to extend their recent dominance in this fixture, matchday three offers a meaningful early test for both clubs' title credentials.

The Emirates has proven a difficult venue for Chelsea in recent visits, and history will be on Arsenal's mind as they look to add another chapter to a series that has largely gone their way.
