AEK Athens host Lask Linz in Champions League league-stage opener
AEK Athens FC begin their UEFA Champions League league-stage campaign at home to Lask Linz on 8 September, with both clubs arriving at the Allwyn Arena in Athens in good recent form.
The match kicks off the opening round of the competition's league phase, offering both sides an early chance to gather points before the wider group of fixtures unfolds.
Form guide favours neither side
AEK Athens go into the match unbeaten in their last five outings, with four wins and a draw. Lask Linz have been similarly productive, also winning four of their last five, though they suffered one defeat in that run.
With four wins apiece across their recent matches, there is little to separate the two sides on current form, setting up an evenly poised opening contest in the group phase.
